In this Allyn Training course, we talk about Project cargo, describing the process related to its management with a focus on its logistics part. Using an example, we will show how such a project and its cargo can be approached and managed.
Following this course, the student should:
- understand what project cargo is,
- have an idea of how such a projects can be handled from a logistics perspective,
- learn about different types of cargo and related logistics needs,
- understand what points are critical to the quality of a project delivery.
Project cargo logistic training content:
In this project cargo logistics training, we will start by defining project cargo logistics and show how it links up with logistics, supply chain, and project management activities and competencies.
We will then present and review the main project management phases before looking at some project cargo type examples.
And using an example project, we will discuss how to create a shipping strategy, explain, how critical the preparation phases are and talk about how to plan the execution phase of the project – the transportation itself.
We will also present some examples of equipment used for the transport and handling of the different types of cargo, such as heavy lifts and oversized pieces and we will close up the module by listing and detailing some of the items critical to successful management and delivery of a project.
This project cargo focused training runs for approximately 45 minutes.
User experience duration is expected to be around 80-90 minutes but will vary due to interactive parts and reflection time.
