Ocean freight course content:
In this online training, we will look at some essential information related to Ocean freight transport, the movement and transport of cargo by ocean.
In this Ocean freight training, while we will briefly touch on Ocean vessel chartering (aka tramp service), we will clearly focus on Ocean liner transport services – meaning the regular service – the vessel and shipping lines operating regular sailing on a preset schedule and route.
We will look at ocean transport and ocean cargo in general before discussing some of the specific modes commonly available on the ocean liner market:
- Container transport with FCL (Full Container Load) or LCL (Less Than Container Load.
- Roll on Roll Off (RORO).
- Break bulk.
After having reviewed some example, we will go into more details by reviewing some ocean freight booking key points and a commonly used booking process as well as the main ocean cargo transport phases.
Finally, we will close up this ocean freight eLearning by discussing some important related transport documentation (namely the Bill Of Lading) and look at some cost calculation scenario.
Interactive parts as well as a final exam are available to assist with the learning and validate the knowledge acquired in this ocean freight training.
While in this training, we will be looking at Ocean transportation mainly from the perspective of a logistics coordinator working with a logistics service provider, we will also, in order to build your awareness, provide some information on the operational and technical aspects of Ocean liner which are generally managed by the service provider on your behalf.
The total run time of our ocean freight eLearning is approximately 115 minutes.
User experience duration is expected to be around 3 hours but may vary due to interactive parts and reflection time.
A final exam is available and will help validate the acquired knowledge and highlight what you have learnt about ocean freight.
A completion certificate is available upon successful completion.
This course includes English Closed Captions.
